NOVA Elite UCI Mountain Bike Trade Team
The NOVA Elite Team is a special, junior focused, UCI registered mountain bike team. This team is limited to 10 racers and is by invitation only. You must be race age 17-18, Cat 1, to be considered for this team.
You must be a member of a UCI trade team in order to race in World Cup events as a junior. The only other way you can enter and World Cup is as part of a National Team. For 2010, USA Cycling does not plan on sending any juniors to events outside the United States, therefore, this is the only way a junior could race in a World Cup outside the United States in 2010.
Also, if you don't get selected by the national team, which usually only fields a smaller group of riders, you wouldn't be able to race in any World Cup. In August 2010, there is a World Cup scheduled for Windham NY. The first World Cup MTB Race in the USA in 5 years! All members of this team will be able to race in that event, even if not selected by USAC for the national team.
This team for 2010, is being almost totally funded by the parents and athletes themselves! In the future we hope to have sponsors step up and help out the future of mountain biking in the USA. For 2010 we have ONE awesome sponsor: Energy By Science (www.energybyscience.com). Energy By Science will be providing each athelete CAFFEINE FREE energy suppliments!
ALL NOVA members also have a 15% discount for product(s) from Energy By Science.
If you have additional questions please send an e-mail to kencreager@msn.com.
